by long-tailed speed boat on the picturesque
Chao Phraya River and klongs (or canals) to
see the serene family homes and temples along
the water-ways which gives this city the name
"Venice of the East". On the
return journey, stop at the Temple of Dawn (Wat
Arun) whose 79m spire silhouette has become
so identified with Bangkok. There will be ample
opportunity to photograph the magnificent multicolored
porcelain-studded towers.

a mere 1 km from the Rose Garden and 30 km from
Bangkok is the Samphran Elephant Ground &
Zoo. Watch the exciting Elephants Theme Show
- the only show of its kind in central Thailand
- where kings and princes flight on elephant
back and elephant games such as elephants running
race, elephant football, are some of the highlights.
Visitors can also stroll around the zoo and
see keepers showing off their skills in handling
tropical reptiles. Crocodiles shows are also
available.

this fascinating floating market at Damnoen
Saduak about 110 km from Bangkok in the Ratchaburi
province. This market is still unspoilt by the
modern influence of the city. Continue to Nakorn
Pathom, the oldest city in Thailand, to see the
Phra Pathom Chedi, which is the tallest in the
world. The golden-tiled dome of the Chedi towers
almost 116 m into the air and looks like an inverted
bowl, being visible from miles away. |

"Ancient City" (Muang Boran)
located 30kms from Bangkok, is a recreation
of Thailand's most historic monuments, including
some buildings that can no longer be visited.
This 200 acre "Ancient City" corresponds
in shape to the map of Thailand and, set in
their appropriate locations are recreations
of famous temples and palaces covering 15 centuries
of Thai history, art and culture.

Rose
Garden is a picturesque country resort, situated
32 kms outside Bangkok. It consists of over
50 acres of tropical paradise with flower gardens,
orchards and a typical Thai village. Thai village
show starts at 3:00 p.m. and you can witness
ordination into the fingernail dance, Thai boxing,
hill tribe dance, sword fighting, elephants
at work and folk dancing.

An
exciting and unique experience. Before each
bout, the contestants perform a ritual to pay
homage to their instructors. Each bout consists
of five 3-minute rounds with a 2-minute interval.
Thai boxers fight with fists, knees, elbows
and feet while an orchestra of local musicians
provide music to give the boxers rhythm and
encouragement.
