Upon arrival at Luang Prabang airport, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel in Luang Prabang. After check-in you have the rest of the day for your own leisure.

DAY
02 |
Luang Prabang - Full Day City Tour (B) |

After breakfast we visit The National Museum (closed on Tuesday) at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of the arte facts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign. We then continue to enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. During our time here, we visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai, we then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River. From there, we explore the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textile made by local and hilltribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.

DAY
03 |
Luang Prabang - Pak Ou - Pakbeng (B, L) |

Luang Say boat leaves Luang Prabang pier at 7.30am for a cruise up the Mekong to Pakbeng and the Luang Say Lodge. A continental breakfast is served while the boat is cruising to Pak Ou Village, at the mouth of the Nam Ou River, where you will visit the Tam Thing Caves of a Thousand Buddhas. Enjoy a buffet lunch on board then stop at a hilltribe village where you can watch the traditional process of Lao whiskey production. Arrive at Pak Beng around sunset and check in at Luang Say Lodge. Dinner on the terrace, overlooking the Mekong River.

DAY 04 |
Pakbeng - Huay Xay - Chiang (B) |

Full breakfast at the Lodge. At 7.00am board the boat for the second leg of the cruise. En route one stop is made to observe rural life along the Mekong and observe minorities. Buffet lunch on board and then continue to Huay Xay where you will arrive before 5.00pm. After clearing the immigration formalities in Laos and Thailand, the guide will wait for you at the Thailand border side and will accompany you to your hotel in Chiang Rai.

DAY 05 |
Luang Prabang - Bangkok (B) |

After breakfast you are free on your own, until the time has come for your transfer to the airport for your flight to Bangkok. |

Please Note
- For Luang Say Cruise Downstream, a luggage tag will be given at Chiang Khong (Thailand border).
- Please bring a jersey or a jacket as it can be cool at Luang Say Lodge and on the boat during October to February.
- It is possible to leave your suitcase and luggage on the boat and take only a small daypack with changing clothes. This is an advisory as the steps to Luang Say Lodge are quite steep.
- For safety reasons and according to weather conditions, the program may be changed without prior notice.
